Oh yeah…
Posted in Gibberish on January 7, 2009 by ShannonMakan Place, the newest canteen in Ngee Ann. It’s about time we get our own air-conditioned canteen.
It’s pretty huge. And prices are surely cheap compared to foodcourts outside.
And and and, it’s also about time we get some fast food to compare with the other polys!
Yep yep! Subway’s here!
School (or more specifically, the school’s facilities), on the other hand, have not been very kind to me since it started on Monday.
The very first lecture on Monday went on without any air-con. Then, I had to bear with a lift that had no lights and was totally pitch black the moment the door closes. And today, it was a tutorial session with the most boring module, and without air-con as well!
Oh man, is all the energy being channeled to the new canteen and various locations being used by the open house?
I can only wonder…
2008 was…
Posted in Gibberish on January 3, 2009 by Shannon… kinda daring in January.
I still remembered I was still in year 1 in January. And every year 1 had to take this module called “Life Management Skills”. We were on the topic of fear, and I wrote in the blog that two of the fears I had was needles and blood. And guess what? I had my very first blood donation a few days later.
… kinda enjoyable in February.
February was pretty much spent with the Usuals. Being the traditional gang that we were, we went visiting house-to-house (but it was just collecting ang pows in disguise).
Valentine’s was spent with Genevieve, Junhao and Edwin. I made a sheet cake which “looked bad but tasted amazing” as Gene puts it.
Our first picnic together was on the 27th of Feb and we had no peace eating while we were there cos we were attacked by swans. Nonetheless, it was still very very fun.
Two days later, we decided that we could not let leap day went by without doing anything, so we had a simple sparklers outing. Simple, but delightful.
… kinda gratifying in March.
Took part in the YiP Cash Trail which I believed helped pull me closer to my course of study. Even though we went home empty handed, the view from the 50th storey of the OCBC building at the end was quite worth it.
Edwin held his biggest birthday party as well. Big = more trouble as four window panes were broken during the chalet.
… kinda life-changing in April.
It can be said that bAoc changed my whole year. If I wasn’t involved, it wouldn’t have prompted me to become a SCO this year, and I can say that life would be pretty boring without the guys in Society.
And how could I forget the April babies whose birthdays are one day apart and birthdates which are two years and one day apart. HAHA.
… kinda embarrassing in May.
This post still has the record of having the highest number of hits on this blog. “The biggest sacrifice I have made for a school project” I call it. I think my mom would have killed me if she knew about this.
… kinda appreciated in June.
I joined bA Envoys in June and the camp was fun fun fun.
And they tricked me into coming early to school on my birthday! But I was really touched as it was my first birthday celebration in school. All my birthdays before this falls on school holidays.

The loveliest year ones that I’ve come to know during bAoc also celebrated my birthday with me. However, I still feel so old whenever I’m with them.
The people whom I’ve known for at least five years were also with me when I turned 18. Thanks soooooo much! <3
And I officially became a SCO in June!
… kinda getting-it-going in July.
Stayed till 11pm in school for a project which we put so much effort into. First time taking part in a bazaar as well.
Had the first Society event. I regret a little not knowing everyone well then…
… kinda patriotic in August.
Celebrated the eve of National Day in school. That was also the day when our Photobucket account was created. HAH!
We had a birthday celebration disguised as a bonding session before the National Day celebration. Everyone just got thrown with flour and water right in the middle of the school field.
… kinda boring in September.
That’s because it was one full month of internship. I guessed I learned a lot during that seven weeks.
But despite being busy, I still took time off to…
celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival with the Usuals!
… kinda crazy in October.
We had the inaugural SCO Chalet where everyone could get high and jump on the beds in the middle of the day! This was definitely the time where everyone’s inner beast was unleashed.
SC outing was also on October where my team of 10 got second and that is something commendable!
NP45 saw more people from Society going crazy. Supposed to have that 70’s look but everyone ended up looking stupid. HAWHAAWHAAAWW!!!
And I donated blood for the second time on the eve of Halloween.
… kinda busy in November.
We greeted November with the bAmazing Race trial…
And the actual bAmazing Race one week after that!
We also had a triple whammy of birthday celebrations in a single day. The funny thing is… NONE of their birthdays fall on November.
These are the two authentic November babies. Summing up, we got a total of 5 birthday celebrations in November. But that’s not all for me!
There was still WC’s birthday,
And Cheryl’s birthday! That’s a total of SEVEN birthday celebrations in the month of November.
First, it was him…
Then Leonard…
Finally the big boss!!
… And 2008 was the best in December!
This was the time when our tau huey sessions started.
And the Usuals started going to the place with the nicest Durian Mousse.
I attended Timo’s choir concert,
helped out at Danzation ‘08,
counted down to Christmas with them,
spent my Christmas having my second picnic with them without any disturbance from the swans.
And all of these led up to the post-Christmas-slash-New-Year-Countdown party at ECP!

This was when I went shutter-crazy and started taking pictures with almost everyone!
And what you are seeing above, is taken at a significant moment in time. My first picture of 2009!
Now that 2008 has passed, I wish to thank everyone who made me enjoyed the year. But let’s work hard and make two-oh-oh-nine even better!
YAY!
