How’s work? – Part 2

Posted in Gibberish on August 28, 2008 by Shannon

Well, I’ve got snubbed by some service staff yesterday. Here’s the story:

So I’m supposed to get a cake for my colleague’s birthday. And thus went to some bakery at Suntec to get it. Saw the staff behind the cash register and her back was facing me. The natural thing to do was to get her attention right? And so I went “Hellllooooo? Excuuuuuuuuuuseee meeee.” She didn’t seem to hear me and so I tried again…

*clears throat*

*using a louder voice*

“HELLO. Excuse meeeee!”

She then kept doing her stuff and took her time to turn around, using about 10 seconds.

And guess what when she turned around? I’m practically invisible to her and she asked the Caucasian couple beside me “How can I help you?”

WHOA!!!!

Now I know why people are so pissed about this particular attitude of service staff. Well, I just stood there and waited for her to finish. It’s extra time off from work anyway.

Oh well, unhappy stuff aside. Pictures time!

The view from my window.

Hah, I wish. This is actually the view from the R&R corner, which is quite nice as well.

And work can be a little boring sometimes, but luckily, I have a friend who manages to entertain me. Believe me, he’s quite athletic.

He’s so courteous on our first meeting.

He knows tai ji…

…taekwondo…

…karate…

…flying kicks…

…and even splits!

He even survived through the Three Kingdom periods (as can be seen from that big black “banner”) to tell his stories!

And one more thing… No matter what he do, he just never seem to be tired or close his eyes.

Kinda like how Citi Never Sleeps, turning dreams into reality huh?

Okay okay, I’m stopping here now. Time to practise some information security.

And no, this is not an advertisement for Citi.

How’s work?

Monday: Rot

Tuesday: Daydream

Wednesday: Caught a little shuteye

At this rate I’m going, I think I won’t be reporting for work from next Monday.

HAHA. Kidding la. I’m very hardworking okay.

And on my 50th post…

Exams have freaking ended!

Took last paper on Friday. I actually stayed up late to study for AAA. How funny. All the papers seems to be okay except for the careless mistake in FMGT. I just hope I don’t get any Bs this semester. It’s very difficult to get more than 3.5 once you’ve got a B.

Death Race, swimming and my first attempt at tennis.

Watched Death Race on Friday after the end of exams. I think it was the tinge of gore which made the movie good for me. If not, it would be so boring (‘cept for Natalie Martinez).

Had a mini-celebration for Ming Kai’s birthday at Shaw House and then went to Marcus house for a swim and also tried out tennis.

It was fun, but I guess I’m not a sports-person after all.

My virgin clubbing experience!

Went to club last night. Lots of hot action there. And guess what??? I picked up $27 from the floor last night! How inviting right! It’s like asking me to go back soon. Haha.

Start of attachment.

And so tomorrow is the oh-so-dreaded 25th August for many of us. It signifies the start of attachment which took away our holidays. There’s also a plethora of paperwork for me to complete. Sighs. Just hope that everything goes well for the seven weeks.

Yeah, this is the 50th post after 7 months of blogging. Which means I have an average of 7.142857142857142857 posts per month. Out of 30 days a month, that’s not a lot. I think it’s time I should update more, even if it’s just a few words in a post.

The iPhone is coming to Singapore

Posted in Gibberish on August 19, 2008 by Shannon

Yeah.

But whoever thought that it is coming at US$199 is quite wrong.

iPhones around the world have special plans tied with them. No exception with Singtel. You will have to shell out $348 for a 8GB 3G iPhone and pay $56 per month on top of that.

Or you can get a 16GB one for free and pay $205 monthly for the subscription fee.

But if you’d like to stick to your old Singtel i Plans, you’re not out of luck. But the 8GB phone would cost $698 on the iOne Plus plan.

Take a look at all of them here and here.

Clearly, I’m staying away from it.

Oh, and exams end in 3 more days. Can’t wait.

National day celebrations *updated*

Posted in Gibberish on August 10, 2008 by Shannon

Went to school on the eve of national day to play some “games”. But it sure was fun.

You’ll have to wonder how she can pose for the camera even though we are all blindfolded.

And this game was supposed to bond the SCOs and ASCOs closer but it was just a birthday celebration in disguise.

She seems damn happy now, but not for long.
