A happy birthday boy!
Posted in Gibberish on June 29, 2008 by ShannonNehneh club outing to celebrate my birthday in advance!!!
Posted in Gibberish on June 21, 2008 by ShannonIt seems like nehneh club can never have full attendance other than on baking day. But now that Cecilia has been a member of Brown Nehneh from Envoys camp, she is to be inducted into the nehneh club!
Met for lunch at The Vines Seafood & Steak Restaurant. Everything is close to perfection there! Let me tell you how good it was:
Food
There was a lot of dishes to choose from – lobsters, salmon, pork chops, variety of steaks, chicken, prawns, dory, lamb, sausages, pastas. I took a long time to finally decide what I wanted. Much thought was also put into the taste for the food. For example, prawns and lobsters were grilled to keep the flavour in rather than simply boiled. But one thing they could do better was presentation – like how they should spend more time arranging the greens on the salads. But overall, food was really gooood.
Ambience
The place was nicely decorated and lit. It felt very cosy there and is definitely suited for a warm lunch / dinner. What destroyed the nice ambience was the music! Seriously, they should take note of it. One minute, they could be playing some nice romantic song. The next minute, it abruptly changes to crazy frog and the likes of it! And that is really really bad.
Value
Value for money? Definitely! Servings were HUMONGOUS! Just take a look at the bones of the lamb shank and you can judge for yourself. The plate was also surrounded by fries, mashed potatoes as well as an assortment of veggies. Can you believe that this was the only meal I had on that day?! Shocking!
Service
This was the part which I was most impressed about! The waiters were not very proficient in English and somehow got Cecilia’s order a little wrong. The next thing that turned out on our table was a plate of fries! It’s not a lot, but still, it shows that they were sorry about it. Our glasses were also constantly being refilled by the attentive staff. What’s more was that there was a free brownie just for the birthday boy! Everyone was shocked when the manager brought that out. All that was said about my birthday was the time when the waiter was taking orders and then came a brief mention of “Eh birthday boy! Hurry up and decide what you want to eat can?!” and the attentive staff took note of it. How nice right! The manager also held the door open for us when we were leaving. Service was just excellllllllenttt.
I guess a visit back to the restaurant is in order. You should try it out too.

Envoys camp
Posted in Gibberish on June 20, 2008 by ShannonBack from camp! Well, it didn’t really rocked, but neither did it suck. Appreciate the efforts of those who organised it. But in life, you can’t please everyone. Some people wished that there wasn’t so much OTOT, and some just wished for less talks (Briefing, product knowledge), more games.
Nonetheless, I still had fun and enjoyed being the joker of the group. What was important was the friendships that were forged during the camp.
Thanks for the three fun-filled days GSS!~ See you guys soon.
Awake
Posted in Gibberish on June 15, 2008 by ShannonAfter a few days of playing around, it’s back to reality with the multitude of projects that I have. And I thought the projects I had last year was bad enough. Thinking back, those that I had in year one were pretty easy (unlike now). Still, there’s no excuse to not do a good job.
Also, I’ve finally met some of my fellow Envoys group members on Friday! At least now I’m able to attach faces to them when I talk to them online. HAHA. Was at P.S. with them and there was this RE-Live! @ Atrium thing going on outside Dhoby Ghaut MRT whereby you cycle for 10km and get a free T-shirt. Being the cheapo me, I gave it a shot and had a sore backside in the end.
Saturday! Woke up super early (really early for a Saturday) and met the others to go to Nat’s house which is allllllllllllllll the wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy at Jurong WEST to give him a surprise for his birthday! Well, we would do it on Tuesday if we could, but a few of us aren’t free. Anyway, your Tuesday is free now so you could go out with whoever you want. Heh.
And I’m off to camp tomorrow! Be back on Wednesday!
All smiles
Posted in Gibberish on June 11, 2008 by ShannonBaking day yesterday! Haha. Was so fun.
The first brownie was quite successful. Maybe it’s just because Betty Crockers almost never go wrong. BUT BUT BUT the silly girls had to throw in marshmallows which made it seemed like it was gonna explode. Still, it was better than the second one that we made.
The second brownie tasted like cookie. ‘Nuff said.
Steamboat dinner was great cos all the foooood was delicious and emptied in the end. And abalone! Haha.
Movie marathon at night with charissa, nicol and shawn! Shawn is such a movie junkie cos he has watched all the movies that we were going to see.
Couldn’t really slept after that cos of the LOUD snoring that was going on. And nicol is super disturb. Doesn’t let others sleep in peace.
Anyway, thanks charissa for the superbbbbbb dinner.
Pictures after the break.
