Udders

No school today! But so what. Still had to wake up quite early to complete the assignment online.

Even so, managed to finish it before 1 and it was so borrrrrrrrring to stay at home doing nothing. Luckily I’ve made an appointment with my secret friend to go have ice cream today!

Welcome to udders!

The name of the shop sounded kinda uncouth to me at first. After all, udders are actually cow’s… erm… tits.

But then, they gave an explanation for it:
So why name our ice cream café after a cow’s mammary glands?
Well, because our ice cream is so fresh, it’s almost straight from the udder to you! We want to offer only the best!

Okay… “almost straight from the udder to you” still doesn’t sounded quite right to me.

It’s not a very big shop. It can sit maybe about 40 people at the most? And that’s at the most. But it was very empty when I went, with only 2 customers at the shop. Hope it doesn’t get crowded too soon as I still intend to go back there.

When you enter the shop, you are greeted by this blackboard with loads of flavours on it. It shows the suggestions for new flavours (with number of votes) and also the progress of flavours undergoing research now. Hot favourite flavours at the suggestions panel include Honeycomb, Strawberry cheesecake, Redbull Vodka, Vodka 7up and Bailey’s Mint Choc. Upcoming flavours include eggnog and cream caramel.

Had a talk with the boss and he said that they are trying to push out new flavours every WEEK for now. And after they get enough number of flavours, they would start rotating it every day. So go back every fortnight and expect a change in flavours!

After hearing so much, you must be wondering about the price right? Well, it’s $3.20 for a single scoop of classic flavour and $4.90 for a double scoop. $3.90 for a single scoop and $5.90 for double scoops of Premium flavours. Premium flavours are those with liquer in them. They also allow for takeaways in pints. $8.90 for classic and $10.90 for Premium. Add $2 to your ice cream to have it served with waffles or 60 cents for a waffle cone.

Service at the shop was also very good. The boss didn’t seem to mind one bit when I wanted to try so many flavours. In fact, he automatically took variants of other chocolate flavours when I just wanted to try one and he also let us try some of the more popular flavours without asking.

I then ordered a double scoop of Baileys & Bourbon and Triple Sec Dark Chocolate.

It was heavenly. First time I tried a double whammy of liquer ice cream. Triple Sec is a kind of orange liquer and so there’s some orange taste with the dark chocolate. The Bailey’s & Bourbon tasted really really really gooooood. My throat did feel kind of warm halfway while eating them though. So those who can’t take it, you may get really drunk after that.

My secret friend ordered Fresh Strawberry and Rum & Raisin. Was charged $5.40 for a mix of classic and Premium. It was calculated by the average of double scoops for both. The Rum & Raisin was simply the strongest that I’ve tasted so far. Really lives up to its claim of having “twice as much liquer as other flavours.” Fresh strawberry tasted a little weird to me and my secret friend complained of it “stinging” (like the sensation on your tongue after eating pineapples) so maybe it proves that it’s really fresh.

All in all, it’s a great experience. Really want to go back there again. Anyone wanna follow?
